South East London's road network enters the second full week of October with continuing restrictions along the A206 through Woolwich and a programme of major events at The O2.
The principal roadworks remain associated with the Woolwich cycleway construction programme. No new major closure in central Plumstead has been verified for this edition.
Woolwich: A206 restrictions remain
Transport for London's published roadworks information identifies continuing restrictions at several locations.
Woolwich Church Street at Frances Street remains subject to lane restrictions in both directions, currently listed until 28 March 2027.
Woolwich Ferry Roundabout continues to be affected by traffic-management arrangements associated with cycleway construction, with works currently listed until 31 July 2027.
A westbound restriction at Warspite Road is also listed until 28 March 2027.
These are continuing works rather than newly announced restrictions.
Plumstead: no separately verified major new closure
No separately verified major new closure in central Plumstead has been identified for this week's bulletin.
The continuing A206 works remain relevant to journeys between Plumstead, Woolwich, Charlton and Greenwich.
Greenwich Peninsula: major events scheduled
The O2's published programme includes several events during the reporting period.
Date | Event |
|---|---|
Monday 12 October | The World of Hans Zimmer |
Tuesday 13 October | The Pussycat Dolls |
Thursday 15 October | Asake |
Friday 16 October | LE SSERAFIM |
Saturday 17 October | Dubois vs Wardley 2 — heavyweight boxing |
These are scheduled events, not announced road closures.
The programme is relevant to traffic around North Greenwich and its principal access roads, although the available information does not establish the extent of any resulting delays.
Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels
No new scheduled full closure of either tunnel has been verified for the reporting period.
This does not confirm unrestricted operation throughout the week. Temporary restrictions and incidents may occur independently of published maintenance programmes.
The latest crossing information remains available from Transport for London.
Woolwich Ferry
Published TfL information has indicated a good service, with no planned pier closure identified in the information reviewed.
Ferry operation remains subject to change, and current service status should be checked before travel.
Dartford Crossing
No extended QEII Bridge closure equivalent to the earlier October maintenance programme has been confirmed for the weekend of 17–18 October in the information reviewed.
The previously published maintenance programme identifies further extended bridge closures on 24 and 31 October.
Shorter overnight restrictions and unplanned incidents are separate from those scheduled extended closures.
Other roadworks
Cray Avenue (A224), at Cray Valley Road: TfL lists a southbound lane closure associated with UK Power Networks works, scheduled until 13 November 2026.
Woolwich Manor Way, at Fishguard Way: temporary traffic signals associated with Thames Water works were scheduled until 12 October. The published end date does not establish that the works have been completed.
What changed since last week?
The continuing Woolwich A206 restrictions remain the principal published works in the immediate area.
The previous week's arena events have concluded, with another programme scheduled at Greenwich Peninsula.
At Dartford, the previously reported major bridge-maintenance programme remains between its published extended-closure dates.
No separately verified major new closure in central Plumstead has been identified.
Looking ahead
The published programme continues to identify longer-term works along Woolwich Church Street and around the Woolwich Ferry Roundabout.
Further QEII Bridge maintenance closures are scheduled for later in October, subject to confirmation by National Highways.
Information note
Planned roadworks, traffic-management arrangements and event schedules can change at short notice. Current conditions should be checked with the relevant transport authority before travelling.
