Audi e-tron Brake Recall Expanded

Overview

A safety recall affecting Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback electric vehicles has been expanded, covering approximately 18,800 units manufactured between 2019 and 2024.

Recall Details

The recall relates to a component within the brake pedal linkage system.
According to official filings, a fastening element may have been incorrectly secured during production, creating a risk of loosening over time.

In certain conditions, this could affect normal braking performance, with the vehicle relying on emergency braking functionality.

Scope & Timeline

  • Approx. 18,853 vehicles affected

  • Production range: 2019–2024

  • Reference: NHTSA campaign 26V240 (manufacturer code 46P7)

Dealers have been notified, and owner communications are scheduled to begin in June 2026.

Manufacturer Action

Audi has initiated a corrective programme consisting of:

  • Inspection of the affected component

  • Verification of correct torque specification

  • Adjustment where required

No routine part replacement is expected as part of the standard remedy.

Background

This expanded recall follows a previous action initiated in 2024, after similar production inconsistencies were identified within a smaller vehicle group.
